National Calligraphic Festival and Fine Art Exhibition Open
Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- A national calligraphic festival was opened to celebrate the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

It brought together calligraphers, fans, school youth and students and children across the country.

On display there are more than 300 pieces of calligraphic works reflecting aphorisms of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and the fighting spirit and firm resolution of the service personnel and people of the DPRK who are bringing about an epochal phase in building a thriving nation under the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

On display there are works "Immortality", "Bloodline of Mangyongdae", "Blessing of Sun" depicting the boundless reverence of the army and people of the DPRK for Generalissimo Kim Il Sung who devoted his whole life to the prosperity of the country and its people's happiness all his life.

"Sun of Songun", "Padded Clothes", "Kim Jong Il's Patriotism" and other works deal with the undying feats the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il performed by putting the DPRK on the status of a nuclear weapons state, satellite manufacturer and launcher while making a long journey of patriotic devotion under the uplifted banner of Songun.

Words and slogans carrying with revolutionary and profound intention and calligraphic works done in a dynamic and vibrant writing style reflect the faith and will of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to energetically push forward the building of a thriving nation, rallied close around Marshal Kim Jong Un.

An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang International House of Culture Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, creators, fine art lovers, Pyongyangites, school youth and students and children.

Hong Kwang Sun, minister of Culture, made an opening address.

Meanwhile, the Songhwa Fine Art Exhibition opened that day.
