National preparatory committees were inaugurated in Nepal, Romania, Benin, Nigeria and Uganda and similar committees were formed by public organizations of Russia, Blagobeshensk City of Amur Region and the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association of Russia

Inaugural ceremonies of the preparatory committees were held by the Pioneer Party of Indonesia, the Diversity Party of Indonesia, the Socialist Unionist Party of Syria and the Socialist Party of Benin with members of the party leadership attending.

The deputy prime minister of Cambodia in charge of the Royal Palace was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at the instruction of the Cambodian king, and the chairman of the National Leading Council of the Diversity Party of Indonesia, general secretary of the C.C., the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, chairman of the Ecuadorian Cultural Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea and other prominent figures of the governments, political parties and organizations of various countries were elected chairmen, vice-chairmen and secretary generals of those committees.

The preparatory committees set the celebration period and discussed the issue of giving wide publicity to the revolutionary career and feats of Kim Il Sung in the period.

Meanwhile, the preparatory committee of the Korean Friendship Association for celebrating the Day of the Sun was formed in Tarragona, Spain and the international preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun in Sankt-Petersburg, Russia.

The International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions published a decision on the inauguration of the international preparatory committee, appointed chairman and executive secretaries and entrusted them with the task to carry out the working plan of the preparatory committee for organizing colorful events and conduct dynamic activities for supporting the just cause of the Korean people.
