Anniversary of Russian Association for Friendship with DPRK Marked
Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in Moscow on April 2 to mark the 20th anniversary of the inauguration of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK.

Present there were personages of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the association and masses.

Present there on invitation were officials of the DPRK embassy in Moscow.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Victor Petrov, chairman of the association, referred to the background against which the association was formed 20 years ago and expressed his will to make sustained efforts to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the peoples of the two countries.

Vice-Chairman Yuri Vanin said the association invariably supports the DPRK, expressing conviction that the Korean people would foil the hostile forces' moves for aggression and surely build a thriving nation under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

First Vice-Chairman Aleksandr Vorontsov said the West is floating misinformation that the DPRK is to blame for the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

He added:

The statements of the Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army and the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK are neither threat nor provocation against someone but warnings to the aggressors.

The plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held on March, 2013 laid down a new strategic line on simultaneously pushing forward the economic construction and the building of nuclear force.

The statements and the line of the DPRK are just ones as they are to cope with the nuclear threat of the aggressors.

At the end of the meeting there were a performance given by Russian artistes and a reception.
