Conference of Journalists Union of Korea Held
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- A conference of the Journalists Union of Korea (JUK) took place at the Grand People's Study House Tuesday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and delegates elected at the conferences of media, armed forces organs and provincial (municipal) unions.

The conference decided as its agenda items "On tasks of the Journalists Union of Korea for letting the journalists and media persons perform their duty and role as trumpeters for advance in shattering the enemies' moves to stifle the DPRK and powerfully pushing forward the building of an economic power" and "On the revision of the rules of the Journalists Union of Korea".

Hwang Yong Bo, chairman of the Central Committee of the JUK, made a report on the first agenda item.

Then followed speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un loves the media persons, leading the media to become powerful ideological weapon conducive to accomplishing the cause of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

Media men have played the role as the ideological standard-bearers who are arousing all service personnel and people to the great surge for building an economic power and improving the standard of people's living, true to the high intention of the Workers' Party of Korea, they said.

They stressed the need for the media persons to successfully discharge their mission and role in the drive to glorify the Kim Jong Un's era as centuries-old victory and change.

A decision on the first agenda item was adopted at the conference.

Then the second agenda item was discussed.

A decision on revising the rules of the union was adopted with the unanimous approval of the delegates.
