Aftermath of S. Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement"
Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- Crimes by GIs present in south Korea have been reported more frequently in recent months, causing public furor.

In March alone, they fired bullets at passers-by in front of a hotel in Rithaewon-dong, Ryongsan District of Seoul and made an assault on a citizen in Tongduchon, Kyonggi Province.

Nowadays, newspapers of south Korea carry articles critical of GIs' murderous deeds, urging punishment of the criminals. They have contended that ceaseless reoccurrence of such crimes is due to the south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA), which is in favor of the U.S. forces side.

SOFA is a never-to-be-found humiliating agreement as it allows the U.S. troops in south Korea to enjoy extraterritorial rights. Under this agreement, GIs would go unpunished after committing murder, rape and other heavy crimes.

Consequently, not a day has passed without crimes of the GIs in south Korea since they occupied it in September 1945.

The injustice of the agreement was evidently revealed through such shocking crimes by GIs as the incidents of killing Yun Kum I and driving a U.S. armored car over two girl students.

The south Korean people have realized that the U.S. forces are not "protector" of them but the root cause of all their miseries and sufferings, and are now raising their voice of demand for abrogation of the agreement.

In order to exercise sovereign rights, they should expel the U.S. troops from south Korea and sweep away all pro-American traitors.
