DPRK Pays Big Efforts to TB Prevention
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- It is one of the basic health policies of the DPRK government to prevent infectious diseases, tuberculosis in particular.

Section doctors and preventive health workers have intensified hygienic information activities to raise awareness about TB among inhabitants.

Medical consultation and checkups are conducted on a routine basis and down-to-earth measures were taken for TB prevention, including BCG vaccination to seven-day newborns and isoniazid.

Meanwhile, the government has strengthened cooperation with international agencies, including World Health Organization, in an anti-TB drive.

An event took place at the Grand People's Study House in Pyongyang on Monday to mark World TB Day (March 24). With this day as an occasion, an intensive hygienic information campaign was launched in the capital city and provinces of the country.
