Japan PM's Remarks Critical of Ruling at World War II Military Tribunal Assailed
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Japanese Prime Minister Abe at a recent session of the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives said the "ruling at the International Military Tribunal for Far East following World War II was a judgment given by UN victor nations".

Minju Joson in a bylined commentary Tuesday says one can not but take a serious note of Japan's abrupt intention to tear off one page of history after the lapse of more than six decades since the trial that indicted Japan for its war crimes.

The trial reflected the unanimous desire of the people and the international community to indict and punish Japan for its war crimes in Asia and hideous crimes against humanity, the news analyst says, and goes on:

The court ruling served as an important base for establishing international order after the war.

Japan has no justifications to complain about the military trial. Japan was "leniently treated" when compared with Nazi Germany, a war criminal state.

The Japanese emperor, who was most responsible for the war, survived and top class war criminal Shigemitsu who was foreign minister during the wartime again held the post. Lots of other war criminals also evaded responsibility for the war.

The same goes for Abe family. Abe's maternal grandfather Nobusuke, a top class war criminal, was set free even though he deserved punishment. He was elected a member of the House of Representatives the same year and became prime minister a few years later.

It is illogical for Abe to say this or that about the military trial. It is improper behavior in the light of morality as well.

However, Abe tries to distort the historic nature of the trial, an indication of his strong ambition to revive militarism.

Japan is now trying in vain to bring back the past. This will only lead it to international isolation and final ruin.

The Japanese reactionaries should bear in mind that Japan's future lies in respecting history and breaking with the past based on it.
