Exhibition Gives DPRK People Confidence in Fast Development of Nation's Light Industry
Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The national exhibition of consumer goods now under way at the Three-Revolution Exhibition here has drawn many visitors every day, giving them big hope for rapid development of the country's light industry.

On display there are more than 142 000 items of consumer goods, presented by factories and cooperatives in Pyongyang and local areas.

According to an official concerned, the exhibition is the biggest of its kind ever in the country in size and the highest in level.

In particular, wheat cakes stuffed with meat, varieties of bread and processed meat and confectionery, produced at factories under the General Bureau of Public Service and the Pyongyang Foodstuff Complex, give a glimpse of the rapid development of the nation's foodstuff industry.

What caught the eyes is corn syrup produced by the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory in a localized ferment process which makes it possible to operate the factory at full capacity.

Choe Hak Chol, a section chief of the Ministry of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry, told KCNA:

"The exhibition shows that it is possible to put foodstuff production on a normal basis when foodstuff factories tap its potentials to the maximum and step up the updating of production processes."

Various kinds of quality sports footwear are on display at the exhibition, which will be conducive to fanning up sports enthusiasm across the country.

Kinds of insam products made by the Kaesong Roksan Exports Processing Factory are highly appreciated by the visitors.

Sim Myong Hui, a section chief of the factory, said:

"My factory will turn out various kinds of more quality products to be symbolic of the factory."

Conspicuous are also the exhibits from foodstuff factories in localities, including Changsong County, North Phyongan Province.

Sung Kyong Hui, a section chief of the Knitting Industry Management Bureau under the Ministry of Light Industry, said:

"The exhibition gives us firm belief that it is a matter of time for the DPRK to stand at the world's advanced level in light industry."
