U.S. Nuclear-armed Submarine's Entry to S. Korean Port Censured
Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity of Pusan in south Korea staged an emergency action on March 21 in protest against the entry of the U.S. nuclear-armed submarine into Pusan Port.

The participants thronged outside the base of the navy operational command in Pusan, shouting "U.S. nuclear-armed submarine, leave at once." Now lying at anchor in Pusan is the nuclear-powered submarine under the U.S. 7th fleet. The submarine was mobilized in a combined naval mobile drill, part of the Foal Eagle joint military exercise.

The protesters shouted they are Pusan citizens wanting peace against war. Absolutely intolerable is the entry of the nuclear submarine amid the present touch-and-go situation, they added.

They denounced the U.S. for moving to finally start a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.

They held a meeting after 4-hour protest.

The speakers condemned the U.S. for letting its nuclear-armed submarine enter the port instead of stopping the military exercises and holding discussion on dialogues under the situation where a war may break out any moment.

They denounced the entry, asking for whom and with whose permission the submarine entered, adding that the north has already put the U.S. nuclear submarine in its target list.

They urged the U.S. to immediately take back the nuclear submarine, not doing such a reckless war gamble as holding the people on this land hoping for peace against war as hostages.

They said they would wage the indefinite emergency action until the U.S. forces pull out of south Korea, adding that they could not leave Pusan as long as the nuclear-armed submarine is there.
