Freedom is ruthlessly violated in south Korea as evidenced by the fact that participants of rallies and demonstrations are detained and prosecuted, the commentary said, adding:

Despite the recommendations of the international community, the "Security Law" still remains in force and human rights are violated on the strength of the evil law.

The commentary urged the "government" to show its active efforts for the improvement of human rights.
