According to the decision made at a meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Socialist Freedom Party of Egypt, Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, member and deputy chairperson in charge of foreign affairs of the Supreme Committee, was elected chairperson of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to hold diverse political and cultural events including a seminar on the works of Kim Il Sung, photo exhibition and film show during the celebration period from April 1 to 16.
