Danger of Nuclear War Increases on Korean Peninsula: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and south Korean warmongers are staging large-scale DPRK-targeted joint military exercises amid the tension mounting on the Korean Peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a bylined commentary.

Terming this the worst military provocation and undisguised threat of aggression on the DPRK, the commentary goes on:

The focus of the drills is being put on increasing the combined and coordinated operation capability between the U.S. aggression forces and the south Korean puppet army units, pursuant to the attempt for mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK and rounding off overall war preparations.

The operations for removing nuclear weapons staged under the simulated conditions of "counterattack operation" and "emergency situation in the north" prove the attack-oriented program and the aggression-minded nature of the drills.

What merits more serious attention is that even though the Key Resolve joint military exercises have ended, Foal Eagle will go on till the end of April, raising the strong wind of a nuclear war.

Foal Eagle which involves a special operation drill and a field mobile drill is a typical actual maneuver for attack. Herein lie its feature distinguished from Key Resolve and greater danger.

The danger of a nuclear war is increasing on the Korean Peninsula, instead of disappearing with Key Resolve.

The time bomb of a nuclear war planted by Key Resolve may explode any moment during the frantic Foal Eagle.

Provokers should be beaten back with arms only, not with words.

The DPRK has already removed all hindrances standing in the way of waging the sacred revolutionary war for national reunification, the commentary concludes.
