Lao Ambassador to DPRK Hosts Reception
Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Lao Ambassador to the DPRK Kiettisak Keobanhdith hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club Friday on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

Present there on invitation were Kim Yong Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), and other officials concerned.

The Lao ambassador in his speech recalled that the LPRP has registered successes in the efforts to safeguard revolutionary gains, consolidate and develop the people's democratic system and bolster overall national power since its birth.

The friendly relations between the LPRP and the WPK were provided by Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung.

The party, government and people of Laos will make positive efforts to develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK, said the ambassador.

Kim Yong Il said the foundation of the LPRP was a historic event which brought about a turn in the struggle for carving out the destiny of the Lao people and achieving the independent progress of the country.

He extended thanks to the Lao party and people for having invariably supported the WPK and the Korean people in their just cause of building a thriving socialist nation and achieving national reunification.

He said the dear respected Kim Jong Un pays deep attention to the development of the relations with the Lao party and people, expressing conviction that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and two peoples would grow stronger.
