Koreans in Japan Protest against North-targeted War Maneuvers
Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Son Hyong Gun, chairman of the Federation of South Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Unification, Mun Se Hyon, chairman of the South Korean Youth League in Japan, and Kim Ji Yong, chairperson of the South Korean Democratic Women's Society in Japan, staged a protest outside the U.S. embassy in Tokyo on March 15 in demand of a halt to the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises.

The frantic Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises are large-scale war maneuvers for aggression pursuant to OPLAN 5027 aimed to "topple the north's government", they noted.

Lurking behind the war maneuvers is the U.S. government's persistent hostile policy toward the DPRK, they said, adding: The U.S. military presence in south Korea and military threat to the north with nukes in disregard of the Armistice Agreement are the basic cause of north-U.S. stand-off.

They urged the U.S. government to make a switchover in its confrontation policy, stop the north-targeted war maneuvers increasing the danger of war and opt for dialogue to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula.
