Anniversary of Law on Agrarian in DPRK Observed by Nigerian Organization
Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea posted on its website an article entitled " Law on the Agrarian Reform that realized the centuries-old desire of the peasants" on Mar. 6.

The article said:

Mar. 5 this year marks the 67th anniversary of the promulgation of the historic Law on the Agrarian Reform in the DPRK.

This event would be unthinkable without the feats President Kim Il Sung performed by putting a definite end to the feudal land ownership and exploiting system in Korea and realizing the Korean peasants' centuries-old desire to be owners of land.

He worked heart and soul to realize the peasants' desire to become owners of land from the very day he embarked upon the road of revolution.

Based on his rich experience gained in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, he singled out the agrarian reform as the primary task for carrying out all democratic reforms right after the country's liberation and wisely led the efforts for effecting the reform.

He set forth the original policy for the successful enforcement of the agrarian reform including the issues of carrying out the agrarian reform on the principle of confiscating land without compensation and making free land distribution and properly defining the land to be confiscated and targets of struggle under the motto "Land to the tillers!"

He promulgated the Law on the Enforcement of the Agrarian Reform on Mar. 5, 1946.

The Korean people will eternally glorify the revolutionary feats he performed by providing an eternal foundation for building a rich and powerful sovereign and independent country by bringing about a great social change in the struggle for the settlement of the rural issue in the early period of the building of new Korea.
