GIs' Presence in S. Korea Is Root Cause of Nation's Misfortune: KCNA
Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- GIs present in south Korea committed shuddering crimes recently, touching off great anger of south Koreans.

At night on March 2, three GIs rampaged through Seoul streets, firing at passers-by and riding a truck over policemen with impunity.

These monstrous crimes are a product of the policy of despising south Koreans, arrogance and high-handed practices.

From the first day of their presence in south Korea the U.S. imperialist aggression troops have committed plunder, murder and violence against south Koreans by employing the most barbarous methods, thereby inflicting untold misfortune and pain on them.

Massacres of civilians on Jeju Island and in Rogun-ri and Maehyang-ri are typical examples showing GIs' barbarity.

The nation was shocked at monstrous crimes that will make even animals blush such as the incidents of tonsuring a woman in Tongduchon, painting a woman in Uijongbu, committing sexual assault against a little girl and killing Yun Kum I, Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son.

Murders, violence and plunder are an inevitable product of the U.S. military presence in south Korea and they have become daily occurrences.

GIs' crimes numbered more than 100,000 for decades after the shackling "Status of Forces Agreement" entered into effect and five cases occur on a daily average at the moment.

It is only south Korea where the brigandish "Agreement" is in force, openly conniving at the murders and violence by foreign aggression forces, in the present era of high human civilization.

It is shame on the nation that the south Koreans have their fate ruthlessly violated, being subject to insult and contempt.

The U.S. military presence in south Korea has caused division and grievous deaths of Koreans.

The nearly 70-year-long history of the U.S. military presence in south Korea proves that the aggressors' barbarous nature remains unchanged and will never change.

Problem is that the south Korean puppets continue acts of sycophantic treachery, prolonging their remaining days while clinging to the coattail of the aggressors, in disregard of the misfortune and pain of the south Koreans.

Traitors are sure to face stern judgment of history as they take the lead in anti-DPRK confrontation rackets with their guns pointed at the fellow countrymen who turned out to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.

The south Koreans should wage more dynamic actions to pull the U.S. forces out of their land and sweep away all the pro-U.S. sycophants and traitors. This is the only way of ending GIs' crimes in south Korea.
