Stop to War Drills against DPRK Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress, the People's Strength for Building New Society, the Federation of University Students in the 21st Century and other organizations and opposition parties of south Korea held a meeting in Seoul on Mar. 9 in protest against the north-targeted war drills.

At the meeting the speakers held that the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills under way across south Korea are not simple military exercises but the ones for a war, demanding an immediate stop to them.

A statement was read out there.

It accused the U.S. and the south Korean authorities of frantically pursuing the hostile policy towards the DPRK, seized with such wild dream as seeking the "collapse of the regime in the north".

Thousands of satellites have been launched, the statement noted, adding that the prevailing grave situation can hardly be settled as long as such unfair action as slapping "sanctions" against the north only persists.

"Sanctions", pressure and high-profile war drills will only invite a military conflict, it said, declaring they would stage actions in solidarity with people of various circles to put an end to the war moves and to establish a perfect peace-keeping mechanism.

It called upon people of various circles to become vocal in their protest against the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK.

Then, the participants sent to the U.S. embassy a protest message addressed to the U.S. chief executive.
