S. Korean Organizations Demand Halt to Joint Military Exercises
Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress, the Missionary Solidarity Council of Christian Society and other organizations of south Korea held an emergency press conference in Seoul on March 7 demanding a halt to the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises.

At the conference the organizations said the U.S. and the south Korean authorities are staging such large-scale war maneuvers as Key Resolve and Foal Eagle on the Korean Peninsula where military tension remains very acute, arousing serious concern.

If such situation is allowed to persist, a war is unavoidable, they held.

They demanded an immediate stop to the military actions of increasing the danger of a nuclear war.

They, at the same time, demanded the U.S. roll back its failed policy of pressure upon the DPRK, cancel its joint war exercises with south Korea and pull its forces out of south Korea as early as possible.

They voiced strong opposition to the war forces of south Korea pursuing a policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen while crying out for "preemptive strike".

They declared that they would take an active part in the actions to protect the security of the fellow countrymen and achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula.
