Memorial Service for Korean Victims of US Massive Air Raid on Tokyo Held
Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for Korean victims was held at the Tokyo metropolitan memorial hall on March 2 68 years since U.S. forces' massive air raid on Tokyo.

Present there were officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) including Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of its Central Standing Committee and concurrently chairman of its Rights and Welfare Committee, Hwang Myong, chairman of its Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters, Koreans in Japan and citizens of Japan.

As known, more than ten thousand Koreans who had been forcibly drafted by the Japanese imperialists were killed in the U.S. forces' massive air raid in March, 1945.

The participants paid silent tribute to the victims.

Speeches were made by a pastor of the Japanese Christian order, a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, a representative of the Tokyo Dietmen's League for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Friendship and others.

Recalling that Koreans in Japan were subject to double and treble sufferings, they called for ushering in a peaceful era free from war.

Introduced there were memorial messages from the Committee on Measures for Former Korean "Comfort Women" for the Imperial Japanese Army and Drafting Victims, the committee for investigating damage done by Japan through forcible mobilization during resistance against it and supporting victims of forcible mobilization abroad, etc. from south Korea.
