DPRK Women Lead Worthwhile Life
Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Women in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have led a worthwhile life under the care of the peerlessly great men.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, KCNA had an interview with Chae Chun Hui, vice-chairwoman of the C.C., Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK).

She said:

On this day, I recall the exploits the peerlessly great men performed to provide the Korean women with independent rights and happiness.

Soon after the country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule, President Kim Il Sung organized the DWUK and promulgated the Law on Sex Equality on July 30, Juche 35 (1946).

Under his warm care, the women grew up to be a reliable pillar for the country pushing one of the two wheels of the Korean revolution, while performing enormous feats in developing the country.

Leader Kim Jong Il authored a number of celebrated works on the women movement that serve as guidelines for the women to fulfill their duty for the times and history.

On March 8, 2008, he enjoyed an art performance together with women and gave them "Pomhyanggi"-branded cosmetics as gifts.

His loving care turned many women into "marathon queen", football stars, competent scientists and heroes.

The dignity and honor of the Korean women are being fully displayed under the care of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

On International Women's Day last year, he provided a peculiar concert for the women and gave hearty congratulations to them throughout the country.

He also saw to it that Mother's Day was instituted and initiated the 4th National Meeting of Mothers.
