"Sanctions" against DPRK Are Useless: Russian Figure
Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Georgy Toloraya, director of the Institute for Economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, alleged that the new "sanctions" against the DPRK were unjust. He said this when he was interviewed by ITAR-TASS on March 6.

If a "resolution" on the DPRK is adopted at the UN Security Council, the situation will deteriorate, the director said, and went on:

The adoption of the "resolution" will get the negative response from the DPRK including military reaction to the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises, new nuclear test and missile launch.

Such a "resolution" will deteriorate the situation on the Korean Peninsula. It is better not to have such kind of "resolution."

What is clearer is that the "sanctions" will not be effective.

The "sanctions" will be totally futile if they are aimed to seduce the DPRK into changing its acts. The "sanctions" will only worsen the situation.

The worsening situation on the Korean Peninsula means a blow at the overall interests of Russia.
