Kim Kum Ok, DPRK's Woman Marathoner
Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Kum Ok, a marathoner of the April 25 Sports Team in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, finished first at the 14th Asian Marathon Championship.

All citizens warmly welcomed her on her way back home.

She began learning track-and-field at the Mangyongdae District Juvenile Sports School.

A senior coach at the April 25 Sports Team told KCNA:

"Kim Kum Ok has unconditionally carried out daily training plan. This made her win gold medals at the 10th and 11th Asian Marathon Championships and the 5th Military World Games."

Kim Kum Ok said:

"When I arrived in Pyongyang by air, I was surprised to see crowds of people standing in welcome of me, a measure taken by the dear respected Kim Jong Un. He also saw to it that a lavish feast was given in honor of me.

Gold medal represents an honor of a country. I will strive to clinch more gold medals so as to contribute to further glorifying Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea."
