Finnish Paektu Association Inaugurated
Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- The Finnish Paektu Association was inaugurated in Helsinki on February 23.

Present at the inaugural ceremony were Kalevi Wahrman, chairman of the Finnish Communists' League, the vice-chairman of the Communist Workers' Party of Finland for the Peace and Socialism, Antti Sika Aho, chairman of the Finland-Korea Society, Juha Kieksy, chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, and other figures.

The participants laid bouquets before portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il before paying tribute to them.

It was decided at the ceremony to form the Finnish Paektu Association, prompted by the desire to cherish profound reverence for Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and intensify the activities to widely introduce their exploits among Finnish people.

The ceremony reviewed the work of the Finnish Mangyongdae Committee and the Finnish Joint Committee for Remembering Comrade Kim Jong Il and underscored the need for the Finnish Paektu Association, a merger of the two organizations, to coordinate in a uniform manner the activities supporting the Korean people.

Antti Sika Aho was elected chairman of the association.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the ceremony.
