Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Marked by Foreign Media
Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers carried articles on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).

The Guinean newspaper Horoya on February 11 devoted one whole page to an article titled "Great man's life recorded in history" illustrated with a photo of President Kim Il Sung standing together with Kim Jong Il.

Recalling that Kim Jong Il was born in Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of the revolution, and grew to be a great revolutionary amid the severe storm of the revolution, the article noted that he wisely led the party, army and people, performing undying feats on behalf of the times and history.

It said that his life was the most brilliant one of the great revolutionary who traversed an unprecedented path, holding aloft the red flag, and the one of the peerless patriot who devoted all his life to the country and its people.

L'Avenir, the newspaper of Democratic Congo, on the same day allotted one whole page to articles titled "Outstanding thinker and theoretician", "A great master of leadership" and others under the headline "The Day of the Shining Star of the DPRK, tribute to the great leader Kim Jong Il" illustrated with a portrait of the smiling leader.

The articles praised the peerlessly great man for clearly indicating the road to be followed by the era and mankind with his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and turning the DPRK into a political and ideological power and a military power.

Articles titled "Exploits performed in the socialist cause", "The national power of the DPRK" and others were posted on the Ukrainian internet paper Ovektyvnaya Gazeta on February 12.
