Era When U.S. Used to Resort to Nuclear Blackmail Is Over: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The third underground nuclear test in the DPRK clearly showed the world once again that the era when the U.S. used to make unilateral nuclear blackmail is over.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a bylined article.

Citing facts to prove that the U.S. has constantly blackmailed the DPRK with nukes since the last Korean War, the article goes on:

The DPRK has made every possible effort to solve the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula for decades. However, the U.S. nuclear threat has not reduced but increased.

In the new century the U.S. nuclear blackmail has become all the more undisguised. The DPRK has bolstered its nuclear deterrence to cope with the U.S. ever-more pronounced nuclear threats.

If the DPRK had not accessed the nuclear deterrence, the U.S. would have already ignited a war on the Korean Peninsula.

The DPRK's recent successful nuclear test is a natural self-defensive measure to protect the sovereignty of the country.

It is quite just that the DPRK answered the U.S. nuclear blackmail with bolstering up the nuclear war deterrent after declaring an all-out standoff with the U.S.

As proven by the nuclear test which fully demonstrated the excellent performance of the nuclear deterrence of the DPRK, it has made a great contribution to protecting the safety of the Korean nation and peace in Northeastern Asia and the rest of the world as a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and a country which manufactures and launches satellites.

The U.S. should behave itself, keeping in mind that the era when it used to blackmail the DPRK with nukes is now over.
