Present at the rallies were leading officials of the party and power organs and working people's organizations, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials and other people of factories, enterprises and co-operative farms, and teachers and students of universities and colleges.

Speakers said at the rallies that the DPRK's third underground nuclear test is a just step for self-defence taken by the service personnel and people of the DPRK who decisively crushed the U.S. moves to stifle it, and a significant event that demonstrated to the world once again that the DPRK does what it is determined to do.

They said that they would complete the KPA preparations for the battle and strengthen the great army-people unity to mercilessly frustrate the provocations of the enemy, adding that it is their mode of counteraction and disposition to fight it out against the hostile forces with arms.

They noted: We cannot concede to the U.S. hostile policy and its war maneuvers even a bit but must deal an immediate and merciless counter strike. It is the final conclusion the service personnel and people of the DPRK have drawn in the decades-long confrontation with the U.S.

They said they would bring about a radical turn in the building of an economic giant by waging a dynamic socialist emulation drive and the charge for increased production with the same spirit and mettle as were displayed in conquering space.
