National Art Exhibition Opens to Mark Day of Shining Star
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition for marking the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star) opened with due ceremony at the Korean Art Gallery Thursday.

On show are 70 pieces of Korean paintings, oil paintings, acryl paintings and posters helping the visitors recollect the revolutionary history and personality of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu.

Korean painting "February Holiday before Korea's Liberation" and oil painting "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and Anti-Japanese War Hero Kim Jong Suk Sightsee the Sunrise over Korea on Jong Il Peak " depicted exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu who gave a birth to the shining star of Mt. Paektu, thereby making the Korean people be blessed with illustrious leaders and commanders generation after generation.

Acryl painting "Victory of the Korean Revolution Depends on the Arms in Our Hands" and oil painting "Inheritance of Songun Revolution" left deep impressions on the audience as they portrayed personalities of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as great men.

Oil painting "Mansu Hill Overcrowded with Torrent of Yearning" truthfully portrayed the ardent yearning for Kim Jong Il and the firm will of all service personnel and people to uphold the dear respected Kim Jong Un, great sun of Songun, for all ages.
