Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Observed in Russia
|Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- Events took place in Russia to mark the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).
A Kimjongilia show and an opening ceremony of a Korean photo, book and fine arts exhibition took place in Sovietskaya Gaban District of Khabarovsk Territory and Nakhodka City, Maritime Territory on January 30 and February 5.
On display in their venues were photos of Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un on their revolutionary activities.
Also displayed there were over 100 potted Kimjongilias in full bloom, works of the peerlessly great men and other Korean books and fine arts pieces associated with the resourcefulness and skills of Koreans.
The deputy governor of the district administration said that photos, books and fine arts pieces on display help Russians know well about the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
The mayor of Nakhodka expressed belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries for whose development Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul all his life would grow stronger under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
The secretary of the Nakhodka Branch of the United Russia Party noted that there are many countries and nations in the world but it is only the DPRK that has remained true to its principle of independence in the international arena and it is only the Korean leaders, great famous men, who glorified their lives with ardent love for the country and the nation.
The vice-mayor of Partizansk City said that the reverence for Generalissimo Kim Jong Il is growing deeper among the Korean and world people as the days go by, adding that he is always alive in the hearts of the world progressive people.
An art performance was given in Nakhodka City by staff members of the DPRK consulate general there and students of the conservatory in the city.
Korean and Russian songs were put on the stage.
