Action for Peace on Korean Peninsula Called for
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations of south Korea, including the Solidarity for Progress, held a meeting on Feb. 6 at which they called for struggling to realize peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The UN Security Council's "resolution on sanctions" backed by the U.S. is very unjust in light of international law and from the national stand, the organizations said.

The U.S.-south Korea joint naval exercises in which the U.S. nuclear-powered submarines and other warships are involved will only escalate the tensions on the Korean Peninsula as they are aimed at a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, they noted.

The Lee Myung Bak regime keen on war maneuvers in league with foreign forces will never be able to evade stern judgment of the nation desirous of peace, they stressed.

Disgraceful is the history of barbarians who totally ditched the south-north joint declarations, they said, stressing that the progressive forces will wage actions in unity in order to hand down a peaceful reunified country to posterity.
