Rodong Sinmun Warns S. Korean Regime against Its Scenario for Pre-emptive Strike on DPRK
Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- The south Korean "Ministry of Defense" recently called for "developing concrete, substantial and definite strategy" to cope with the "the north's potential nuclear threat" and declared that the conception of "pre-emptive attack" would be included in the "strategy of nuclear deterrence against the north" to be worked out with the U.S.

Jong Sung Jo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, blustered in case of "any sign of the north's nuclear strike", the south Korean military would "mount a pre-emptive attack on it even though it might lead to a war".

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: The south Korean Lee Myung Bak regime's call for "pre-emptive attack" proves that it made a nuclear pre-emptive strike on the DPRK an established fact and is working hard in real earnest to put into practice the war scenario against the DPRK in collusion with the U.S.

The commentary went on:

The south Korean regime has stepped up the development and deployment of ballistic missiles with a firing range of 800km capable of striking the entire region of the DPRK as well as the deployment of Aegis destroyer's ship-to-ground cruise missile with a firing range of 500km and a long-range air-to-ground missile for fighters.

In another development, the south Korean regime is mulling having access to a spy satellite capable of monitoring core facilities in the rear of the north with an investment of a huge amount of money, talking about "independent capability to monitor it."

The Lee regime is talkative about "the north's potential nuclear threat," but this is nothing but sheer sophism to cover up its sinister hostile actions against the DPRK.

It is ridiculous, indeed, for the south Korean authorities to make desperate efforts to mount a pre-emptive attack on the DPRK backed by the U.S.

As the saying goes "A newborn puppy knows no fear of a tiger", the Lee regime's attempt at "a pre-emptive strike on the north" would only herald its final destruction.
