DPRK People Enjoy Lunar New Year's Day
Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- The people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea enjoyed the lunar New Year's Day (February 10).

Displayed in streets of Pyongyang, Hamhung, Sariwon and other cites of the country were national flags and celebrating boards, lanterns, banners and other ornaments.

Art performances were given at theatres and cultural houses, including the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, Moranbong Theatre and the Hamhung Grand Theatre, adding to festive mood.

Public catering service facilities served such traditional dishes as Pyongyang cold noodle, sinsollo and casserole to delight the people enjoying the holiday. Put on sale at open-air booths were roast chestnut, sweet potato and peanut.

In Pyongyang, folk games of schoolchildren took place at Kim Il Sung Square and in plazas of the Arch of Triumph, the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other parts of the city. Those children enjoyed a happy holiday, playing such games as kite-flying, skipping, shuttlecock and top-spinning.

Some citizens were seen playing Yut-game, Korean chess and other folklore games at houses with neighbors.

In the evening citizens in Pyongyang, Wonsan, Nampho and other cities of the country had a nocturnal view of cities, walking along streets decorated with colorful electric light.
