Sports Contest of Officials of National Institutions Closes
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The 18th Sports Contest of Officials of National Institutions for Paektusan Prize closed with due ceremony at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium Friday. The contest opened on January 24.

In the contest the players competed in 5 sports events, divided into 4 groups.

The Ministry of Railways, the Minju Joson, the Taesong Guidance Bureau and the Guidance Bureau of Mining-Machine Industry took first place in men's basketball games while the State Planning Commission, the Korean Revolution Museum, the General Bureau for Service for People and the Foreign Trade Bank won in women's basketball games.

The Education Commission, the Central Broadcasting Committee of Korea, the Ponghwa Guidance Bureau and the General Bureau of Diplomatic Corps Affairs took first place in men's volleyball games while the Central Bank, the Korean Revolution Museum, the Overseas Construction Guidance Bureau and the General Bureau of Diplomatic Corps Affairs defeated all their rivals in women's volleyball games.

In tug of war matches the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, the Korean Central News Agency, the Overseas Construction Guidance Bureau, the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries won the first places.

In the Taekwon-do event the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, the Foreign Languages Publishing House, the Overseas Construction Guidance Bureau and the Maritime Administration of the DPRK came off winners.

In collective running the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Languages Publishing House, the Overseas Construction Guidance Bureau and the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries outstripped all other teams.

After all, the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, the Korean Central News Agency, the Overseas Construction Guidance Bureau and the General Bureau of Diplomatic Corps Affairs became winners in total points.
