Dissolution of "UN Command" Urged by Nepali Organization
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The Nepali Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea called for the dissolution of the "UN Command" in a statement on Jan. 29.

The statement expressed great concerns about the worst situation on the Korean Peninsula created by the U.S. scheme to disguise the "UN Command" as the "multinational force command" for the purpose of keeping the state of armistice on the peninsula and disturbing the peace and security there.

The U.S. allegation that the increase of the defence capability in the DPRK escalates the regional tension is nothing but rhetoric to cover up the aggressive nature of its Asia-Pacific strategy, the statement said, and went on:

Whether the "UN Command" is dissolved immediately or not is a touchstone showing whether the U.S. desires peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region or seeks to revive the Cold War and maintain its hostile policy towards the DPRK.

The DPRK is working to ensure the peace and stability in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world as well as on the Korean Peninsula.

We urge the U.S. to come out for the talks with the DPRK.

We demand the south Korean authorities, political parties and public organizations consent to the proposal advanced by the DPRK for the removal of the tension between the north and the south.

We appeal to the political parties, public organizations, international organizations and progressives all over the world desirous of justice, truth and peace to extend full support and solidarity to the Koreans' struggle to reunify the country independently and peacefully by their concerted efforts.
