"Sanctions" Will Not Work on DPRK: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday censures the UN Security Council's "resolution" which seriously encroached upon the inviolable sovereignty of the DPRK with the backing of the U.S. and those forces that followed it.

A bylined article of the paper says that the "resolution" was an unjustifiable step that was aimed to ban the DPRK's peaceful satellite launch, and a product of a criminal attempt to deter the DPRK from developing economy and bolstering its defence capabilities.

The DPRK has never recognized despicable "resolutions on sanctions" which the hostile forces adopted to infringe on its sovereignty, the article notes, and goes on:

To bring down the DPRK by "sanctions" is a foolish dream.

The people of the DPRK are heroic people who defeated two imperialisms in one generation. They will never yield to any isolation and stifling moves.

The army and people of the DPRK have been exposed to the enemies' sudden attacks more than once and they have always converted adversity into favorable conditions to emerge victorious.

The U.S. imperialists which ignited the Korean war in the 1950s sustained a bitter defeat by the brave Korean army and people. The Korean people foiled the enemies' moves with iron faith, pluck and tough counteraction in the 1960s and the 1970s when the U.S. imperialists created a serious situation through war moves and also in the 1990s when the U.S. worked desperately to ignite a new war by kicking up "nuclear inspection" racket against the DPRK.

"Sanctions" of the hostile forces will never work on the DPRK.

The "sanctions" are just a revelation of the hostile forces' fear of Korean-style socialism and the might of the DPRK which is making steady victorious progress.

The unreasonable "sanctions" of the hostile forces will only harden the pledge of the army and people of the DPRK to counter the "sanctions" with a stronger measure for self-defence.
