U.S. Poses Constant Nuclear Threats to DPRK
Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has stepped up its moves to stifle the DPRK since the mid 20th century to seize upper-hand in the Asia-Pacific region.

After igniting a war against the DPRK on June 25, 1950, the U.S. introduced nuclear weapons to the Korean front in August the same year and held several drills for dropping them in the northern part of Korea.

It reduced south Korea into the biggest nuclear depot and advanced nuclear base in the Far East and staged nuclear war exercises against the DPRK in south Korea and its vicinity every year with huge nuclear weapons involved, openly posing nuclear threats.

It branded the DPRK as a target of preemptive nuclear attack several times in the "report on nuclear posture".

It conducted a series of sub-critical nuclear tests under the pretext of "ensuring the safety of nuclear arsenals" while spending enormous funds in modernizing nuclear facilities.

This proves that the U.S. has constantly sought to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.

A danger of nuclear war has increased on the Korean Peninsula due to the U.S. moves to hold world hegemony by monopolizing nuclear weapons and dominating the field of strategic offensive weapons.

The U.S. has directed its efforts into rounding off preparations for an anti-DPRK war, turning south Korea and Japan into its advanced bases for preempting a nuclear attack.

It was reported by a south Korean paper that the U.S. strategic command worked out OPLAN 8010-08 in January of 2009, which envisaged attacks on the DPRK's military capability, military and state leadership and nuclear and missile complexes with the combination of nuclear and conventional weapons.

It is the U.S. that pays only lip-service to detente in the Korean Peninsula and instead steps up preparations for a nuclear war under the pretext of the non-existent threats from the DPRK.

The U.S.-masterminded "sanctions" under the signboard of coping with "the north's threats" can never help it cover up its deceptive and criminal nature.

The more the U.S. seeks hostility towards the DPRK, the stronger the latter's nuclear deterrent for self-defense will become. The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK will clear the world of the imperialists.

The U.S. would be well advised to face up to the situation and behave with discretion.
