Japan Accused of Concealing Crimes against Humanity
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Kyunghyang Daily News on Jan. 25 blasted the Japanese conservative forces for concealing Japan's past crimes against humanity.

It recalled that the Tokyo Metropolitan Education Committee of Japan on Jan. 24 decided to delete from a textbook published by itself an expression that Japan killed Koreans during the great Kanto quake. It pointed out that an official of the committee made no scruple of letting out outbursts intended to cover up Japan's mass killings of Koreans, asserting that "it is hard to judge they were all murdered" and it took into consideration the fact that the word massacre sounds cruel."

It said that in those days the Japanese government floated in an organized manner a groundless rumor that Koreans sought to rise in a revolt, in a bid to bring the social chaos under control and this resulted in killing Koreans in Japan in cold blood.

It stressed that in 2008 the Japanese government in a report on the great Kanto quake recognized the fact that those Koreans who were killed due to that groundless rumor held the biggest proportion and there were many instances of deaths to which an expression of massacre was appropriate.
