Young People Make Study Tour of Area of Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- Young people in Ryanggang Province made a study tour of leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan secret camp from January 22 to 28 on the occasion of his birth anniversary and the first anniversary of the autographed letter sent by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

During the march its members laid floral baskets and bouquets before statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo Memorial Tower, Revolutionary Battle Site in Pochonbo, the shore of Lake Samji and the Chongbong Bivouac and the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu at the secret camp before paying tribute to them.

They held a meeting for starting the march in front of the tower.

They marched along the course of the study tour explored by Kim Jong Il towards the revolutionary battle site in the area of Mt. Paektu more than half a century back. After being briefed on the Revolutionary Battle Site in Pochonbo, they went round the command post, police sub-station and the sub-county office of the Japanese imperialists, etc. at that time.

They arrived at the secret camp in Mt. Paektu via the Spring Site in Poso-ri, Junghung tableland, Revolutionary Site in Pothae and Chongbong Bivouac. They held a meeting to adopt a letter to Kim Jong Un in front of the birthplace of Kim Jong Il.

After being briefed on the Samjiyon Grand Monument at Lake Samji, they toured the groups of subsidiary sculptures and visited the township of Samjiyon, which has undergone a dramatic change.

Diverse political and cultural events took place during their study tour.
