DPRK's Right to Space Development for Peaceful Purposes Inviolable: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- No force on earth can block the Korean people all out to defend the independent rights including the right to space development, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in a bylined article. It goes on:

The U.S. and its allies are persistently taking issue with the DPRK's satellite launch. This is aimed to bring it to its knees and stifle it under the pretext of this launch for the mere reason that it is not yielding to their highhanded and arbitrary practices.

The frantic row kicked up by the U.S. over "the missile threat" under the pretext of the DPRK's satellite launch is intended to justify its military moves to establish hegemony by citing it.

The U.S. pivot to Asia-Pacific policy is aimed to cook up NATO of Asian version involving south Korea, Japan, Australia and other countries. It also seeks to build a regional missile shield. It is exploiting the DPRK's satellite launch for creating an environment to attain such purpose.

The situation is inching close to an unpredictable phase due to the vicious moves of the U.S. and its allies to stifle the DPRK. This clearly indicates that in order to defend justice and the sovereignty of the country, it is necessary to build up one's own strength.

It is self-evident that the DPRK cannot abandon its independent right to use space recognized by international laws.

The U.S. and its allies should not abuse the DPRK's space development for peaceful purposes for attaining their sinister aims.

They would be well advised to ponder over the consequences to be entailed, before conducting careless and irresponsible acts in pursuance of their immediate interests.
