AAPSO Supports DPRK FM Memorandum
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- The Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) released a statement on Jan. 22 supporting the memorandum issued by the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

The statement said:

2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement that was signed at the close of the war in the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. seeks to turn the now-defunct "UN Command," ghost of the Cold War, into a parent body of the Asian version of NATO disguised as a "multinational forces command" pursuant to a new defense strategy in a bid to maintain the status of armistice.

The AAPSO agrees to the assertion clarified in the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry that it is necessary to awaken the international community to a grave danger to be caused by the U.S. which brings dark clouds of war to hang over the Asian-Pacific region, the world's biggest hotspot.

The organization demands the U.S. dissolve the "UN Command" and repeal the anti-DPRK hostile policy by signing the DPRK-U.S. peace agreement and thus provide a favorable atmosphere for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

The body, availing the opportunity, extends support and solidarity to the Korean people in their just struggle for removing the confrontation between the north and the south, implementing the north-south joint declarations and independently settling the issue of the country's reunification by the efforts of the Koreans.
