Silver Vessel, Gift to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- A silver vessel is one of gifts displayed at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

It was presented to leader Kim Jong Il by a Lao government delegation on August 19, Juche 86 (1997).

The delegation prepared the gift, out of reverence for Kim Jong Il who was making great contributions to the cause of human independence.

It is a custom of Laos to present to a respected person with a set of ornamental traditional rice vessel.

Prior to visit to Pyongyang, the members of the delegation agreed to prepare a silver-made vessel as a gift to the leader.

The round-shaped vessel comprises a rice container and a lid with a braid of silver thread attached to it.

Beneath the vessel is a circular prop and its surface is carved with decorative patterns.
