Zeal for Physical Culture Grows
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- A table-tennis tournament recently took place at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium with attendance of officials from commissions, ministries and national institutions.

During the tournament, the stadium was crowded with spectators and cheers.

The tournament drew deep interest of sports experts and fans and stirred up the people's enthusiasm for sports activities. It also helped improve techniques of those participants.

Kim Yong Thae, a director of the Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration, told KCNA:

"I am very glad that my team took the title. It is hard to believe that my table-tennis skill, trained in holidays and other occasions, resulted in such victory.

I'll take more active part in sports activities and thus contribute to building a civilized socialist nation."

Pak Song Guk, vice-chairman of the State Commission of Quality Management, said:

"My heart was full of deep emotion when employees of the commission warmly congratulated us for having won the doubles.

I will contribute a large share to building an economic giant with the spirit displayed in the tournament."

Kang Tong Chol, a Pyongyang citizen, said:

"Physical culture is an important part of life as it trains one's body and mind and raises working ability.

I like playing table-tennis. The tournament made me so hot."
