S. Korean Intelligence Service Accused of Human Rights Abuses
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- The Kyonggi Solidarity for Progress in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Jan. 13 at which it denounced the Intelligence Service for illegally following up a member of a progressive organization.

At the press conference speakers accused the IS of illegally shadowing Ri Sang Ho, advisor to the Suwon Solidarity for Progress, for several days and insisting this was a proper performance of its duty.

This is a serious abuse of human rights, they said, strongly condemning the IS for justifying its illegal act.

If the authorities overlook the recent case, they will face all-people resistance, they warned.

Victim Ri Sang Ho held that the illegal surveillance should not be allowed to go on as it disturbs the normal life of people and puts them in uneasiness at all times.
