DPRK's Fine Art Introduced by ITAR-TASS
Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- ITAR-TASS of Russia on Jan. 10 introduced the developing fine art in the DPRK that opened a new phase in pictorial art.

Korean style jewel-powdered paintings, a unique style of formative art, are highly appreciated in the world because they keep their original colors unchanged for hundreds of years, the news agency said.

Referring to means and objectives of jewel-powdered paintings' depiction, the news agency continued: Such paintings vividly deal with the picture of the DPRK, a land of morning calm. They present a good harmony of nature, environment and traditional manners and customs.

The Korean Jewel-powdered Painting Studio was organized at an instruction of leader Kim Jong Il, said ITAR-TASS, adding he paid deep attention to the creation of jewel-powdered paintings.

It also recalled that those paintings were highly appreciated at international exhibitions.

Jewel-powdered paintings have become popular in foreign countries as a peculiar industrial art of the DPRK.
