DPRK's Theatrical Art Praised by Brazilian Organization
Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK on Jan. 8 placed on its website an article titled "Peculiar and fresh-style theatrical art of DPRK with emergence of Moranbong Band".

The article referred to the great achievements made in the DPRK's theatrical art last year, adding:

It is necessary to mention, among other things, the peculiar and fresh-style performance of the Moranbong Band that presented a true picture of the Juche-oriented music.

The band gave a demonstration performance in July last year.

Just 10 odd musicians played resonant, exquisite and dynamic melodies with refined rendition and young promising singers presented emotional and cheerful songs truthfully representative of their requirements, mesmerizing the audience.

The prestigious Unhasu Orchestra also decorated last year with peculiar performances.

Concert "Women Are Flowers" given by the Unhasu Orchestra to celebrate the March 8 International Women's Day, concert "Family of General" given by it to mark the May Day and other concerts of peculiar styles representing the true picture of society in the DPRK where all people lead a worthwhile life in harmony deeply impressed the audience.

Performances given by other art troupes including the Mansudae Art Troupe and the Phibada Opera Troupe on important occasions also greatly encouraged the people in their dynamic drive to create a new spirit of the era and make innovations.

Last year witnessed the 500th performance of the light comedy "Echo among Mountains", Kim Il Sung Prize laureate, and the 1,500th performance of the revolutionary opera "A Flower Girl."

The successes made by the light comedy in a matter of little over two years clearly proved what great influence and attraction a piece of art work has.
