"A-Match-for-A-Hundred", Slogan of KPA
Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un in the New Year address said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the slogan "a-match-for-a-hundred" advanced by the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and it is important to bring about a fundamental change in strengthening the revolutionary armed forces and their combat preparedness.

The world's situation was very acute when President Kim Il Sung set forth the slogan for the Korean People's Army (KPA). After the Caribbean Crisis, the U.S. began directing the spearhead of aggression to Asia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in particular.

To cope with it, the President advanced a unique line of simultaneously speeding up the economic construction and the defence upbuilding and aroused all the people to that effect.

He also made frequent inspection tours of military units in the frontline areas to beef up the KPA.

When he visited a military post on Mt. Taedok on February 6, Juche 52 (1963), he underscored the need to turn positions into fortress with existing military personnel, intensify military trainings and firmly arm all servicepersons with the revolutionary idea so as to prepare all of them to be "a-match-for-a-hundred" combatants.

Leader Kim Jong Il made big efforts to carry the slogan into practice among servicepersons. His energetic guidance turned the KPA to be an invincible army.
