Suicide, Serious Issue among Young S. Koreans
Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Youth and Children's Policy Institute opened to the public the results of an opinion poll it conducted as regards a series of suicides among south Korean young people and children on Dec. 24.

According to the poll carried out among more than 8 700 students of elementary, secondary and high schools throughout south Korea, one of four respondents said that they had once thought of committing suicide.

Those who said they tried committing suicide accounted for 14.4 percent.

Young people moan in distress, being ruthlessly trampled underfoot under the unpopular rule in south Korea.

They opt for suicide, being caught in melancholy and uneasiness without any hope.
