S. Korean Authorities Accused of Twisting Historical Facts
Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Just History of south Korea held a press conference in Kwanghwamun, Seoul on Dec. 26 to rap the "government" authorities for twisting historical facts.

The speakers denounced the authorities for mulling opening a new history museum.

They complained that the museum would reportedly display no materials on the April 3 uprising on Jeju Island but show just a few data on the April 19 popular uprising and the Kwangju popular resistance. Worse still, it would give no details of the May 16 military coup, they added.

Noting that this museum can not be regarded as a history museum as it deals with history in a unilateral and biased manner, they declared that the historians would not remain onlookers to this move.

The present regime is set to open the museum earlier than scheduled though it was controversial from the start of its construction, a clear indication that this was prompted by the regime's intention to advertise it as its achievement.

They called for a campaign for boycotting the visit to the museum.
