S. Korean Authorities Accused of Driving Workers to Death
Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions on Dec. 23 issued a commentary denouncing the unpopular rule of the "government" authorities driving workers to death.

The commentary recalled that some days ago three young workers committed suicides in protest against their harsh rule. This was attributable to the lay-off, expansion of part-time jobs and suppression of trade unions by the Lee Myung Bak regime, it added.

What they desired was just the right to work, the right to be paid for the work done by them and the right to trade union activities, it noted.

They chose death at last without any hope for future, it said, saying that the Lee Myung Bak regime is entirely to blame for this situation.

The commentary accused the authorities of not taking any measure for the workers in their actions despite cold in demand of their right to existence.

The organization will launch a new struggle and make every possible effort to prevent the workers' continued death, the commentary warned.

It called upon all workers to rise up in actions in a do-or-die spirit.
