Kim Jong Il's Feats Praised by Foreign Media
Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers and broadcasting services carried special write-ups or aired special programs accompanied by portraits of leader Kim Jong Il to commemorate the first anniversary of his demise.

The Lao newspaper Pasason on Dec. 17 carried the following article:

Kim Jong Il whom the Korean people are holding in high esteem as their eternal leader is a model of genuine patriots.

How ardent Kim Jong Il's patriotism was can be clearly proved by the wisdom and efforts he devoted to the struggle for defending socialism and building a thriving nation.

Kim Jong Il held higher the banner of Songun late in the last century when the imperialists' political, economic and military offensive to stifle the DPRK reached its extremes.

The Lao newspaper Vientiane Mai on Dec. 17 said that thanks to the superhuman energy and self-sacrificing devotion of Kim Jong Il, the DPRK could rank itself among a few manufacturers and launchers of satellites and nuclear weapons states in the world and came to lay strong foundations of the powerful self-supporting national economy equipped with latest technology.

The Syrian paper Al Baath on Dec. 17 and the Pakistani paper Baluchistan Times on Dec. 16 carried articles praising the feats of Kim Jong Il, who devoted himself to the development of the Workers' Party of Korea and the prosperity of socialist Korea.

The Ugandan paper Sun Rise on Dec. 17 devoted a whole page to an article titled "On the occasion of the first anniversary of demise of H.E. Kim Jong Il, the eternal leader of the Korean people".

The State Radio of Uganda praised his undying feats on the same day.

The Nepali paper Arpan on Dec. 21 carried articles introducing his Songun leadership exploits.
