S. Korean Authorities' Suppression of Media under Fire
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hangyore in an editorial criticized the puppet authorities for cracking down upon the editing team of PD handbook of MBC.

The team was given a verdict of "not guilty" again, a result of the strong protest of people from all walks of life including itself.

The recent court decision proved once again that the regime, the ruling party and the broadcasting agency were absolutely wrong when they moved to lay the blame for the mad cow disease upheaval in 2008 on the PD handbook editing team, the editorial said, went on:

The then beef crisis was prompted by Lee Myung Bak's plan to massively import American beef fraught with the danger of mad cow disease.

This being so, the regime, the ruling party and the conservative media sought to lay the blame on the editing team.

The American beef was proven to be fraught with the danger of mad cow disease, also proving the justness of the media activities of the team. But the MBC punished those concerned.

Director Kim Jae Chol and other paid managers who dance to the tune of Chongwadae's plan to put broadcasting under its control are to blame for the situation unprecedented in history of media activities.
